Thank you for your interest in my research and the Adopt-a-Migrant program.  As part of my research we capture birds for a brief moment and either band them or fit them with tiny, temporary transmitters.  Marked birds give us information about their feeding habits, their use of different plants, their association with other birds, and about their survival.  This information is an invaluable resource for conservation planning. 
    During the winter many species of both resident and migratory birds often flock together in the search for food within diverse types of habitat. When you adopt a migratory bird you will learn about the fascinating lives of these birds on their wintering grounds.  100% of your donation will go towards the cost of supplies and equipment needed to carry out current research goals and to develop educational programs for local schools in Honduras. Three donation levels are available, each with different benefits:

Wood Thrush Level ($50+)
        - A detailed, full-color adoption certificate with the name and photo of your bird (printable, digital or via USPS)
        - A species ID card, featuring key characteristics of your bird on the wintering and breeding grounds
        - A detailed account of habitat movements and activity based on radio telemetry
        - A map of your bird's winter territory
        - Updates on future observations
        - A semi-annual, color newsletter summarizing the experiences and results from the field (digital or USPS)
       
Warbler Level ($20+)
        - A detailed, full-color adoption certificate with the name and photo of your bird (printable, digital)
        - A species ID card, featuring key characteristics of your bird
        - A summary of sightings throughout the season
        - Updates on future observations
        - A semi-annual, color newsletter summarizing the field season (digital)

Hummingbird Level ($5+)
        -A semi-annual, color newsletter summarizing the field season (digital)
